Abstract

This research paper explores the literature to understand the framework of functional competencies and its impact on the performance of an organisation. These companies were reviewed at an organisational level. It was observed that the organisational competencies by means of functional competencies (Marketing, Research & Development & Production) not only enhance the financial performance, but also influence other perspectives of the balance scorecard, and are directly related to the overall performance of the organisation. In addition, the findings contribute towards bridging the gap between functional competencies and their impact on the organizational performance.
