Abstract

Unusual items relating to assets are categorized into three viz. (a) Obsolescence (b) Inadequacy and (c) Accidents. The paper in hand has tried to find empirically the practice of treating the above unusual items relating to fixed assets as depreciation or capital loss. 61 persons responded from the 350 companies which have been given questionnaire and the results are derived from those responses.
