Abstract

Since today's problem of unemployment is formidable in front of society, its impact falls on the negatively among young unemployed youth. The present study is an attempt to investigate the effect of gender differences in depression, feeling of wellbeing and coping strategies in unemployed youth. For this a sample of 50 unemployed male and female youth in the age range on 25 years to 35 years was included in the study through purposive sampling technique from district Haridwar. Mental Depression Scale, PGI General Wellbeing and Coping Checklist were used to measure the depression, well-being and coping strategies of unemployed youth. Critical analysis of the data revel that no significant differences were found in depression on the other hand significant differences were found in well-being and coping strategies in male and female unemployed youth.
