Abstract

The growth in the adoption of talent management practices across industries registered a wild increase in the past decade. The concept coined and developed by the consultancy major Mckinsey&co. had moved from its infancy stage to the matured level. India being a fast track developing country and favorable IT destination in terms of skilled labour witnesses a setback in practicing talent management across IT industry. The industry needs to adapt with the talent management culture to remain competitive in the domestic and global economy. The researcher investigated the barriers of talent management in Indian IT industry through exploratory factor analysis and grouped the barriers as individual barriers, organizational barriers and macro barriers.
