Crucifixion and resurrection of jesus in islam and christianity

Jesus pbuhhas one of the largest number of followers on the planet which includes the Christians and the Muslims at large. This research paper focusses on the understanding of Jesus as a Prophet, as a Messiah and the begotten Son of God in the Light of Christianity and Islam along with the historical and archaeological evidence to support the discussion. The paper is a literature review of the primary sources of the sacred manuscripts of the Christians and the Muslims.

The research paper expounds ‘Jesus’ referred by Christians and Muslims whether they are the same or the Jesus referred by both the faith are two different person based on the life narrative and understanding. The Quran could be considered the second largest historical evidence of the existence of Jesus which includes details of the life, his mother, his birth and his missionary activities.

The research concludes that the Jesus revered by the Christians bear a completely different attribute than the one believed by the Muslim especially with regards to his crucifixion and resurrection which is the core issue of Christianity. There are only few similarity and more difference in the life of Jesus of Christians and Jesus of Islam. The research paper also analysis the method by which one could reconcile Jesus in both the faiths.
