Public-Private partnership as a best practice in maintaining the public toilets in India

Public toilets can be called public restrooms, public conveniences, public lavatories etc. This is set of rooms which have more than one toilet set and urinals that complete the needs of the different range of individuals. The individuals are whose are far away from their homes like tourists, travellers, shoppers, street hawkers and persons don't have personal toilets at their home. The responsibility of maintenance of the public toilets has been given to the Local Governance. But due to lack of funds and irresponsible attitude of Municipal Corporations, the condition of these public conveniences is very poor. But after the Swachh Bharat Mission, the Municipal Corporations are trying to solve the problem of public toilets and many local bodies initiated special programs with the help of public-private partnership. So these days the number of PPP models are available. Many models of PPP have got success like Sulabh model, BoT model. Community participation model etc. The present paper discussed the successful models of PPP in public toilet, that created the clean and safe environment for all the citizens of India
