The racism and violent psychological maltreatment of female children in the American and Korean Novels: Especially in “The bluest eye” and “Fox Girl”

The aim of this paper is to make an analysis on the theme-young girls are suffering from mental trauma, resulting from three-pronged oppression of race, gender and class. The combinations of physical violence, sexual abuse, aggressive and threatening language create an environment in which children experience psychological maltreatment. In these two novels we can find out racial oppression in one hand how Pecola and Hyun Jin are violently tormented due to their black skin and on the other hand psychological deprivation by their abusive parents. My objective is to show how cultural clash, racial hatred and disharmony in family make hostile environment for developing young minds as they found themselves helpless and isolated in this world. The omniscient narrator of “The Bluest Eye” defines the world of such victimization as one whose God is silent; whose God has forgotten that he once said, “Suffer little children to come unto me, and harm them not.”
