The aim of this research is to analyze the economic status of the dairy farmers of Madhya Pradesh and Indore district has been selected as the study area. Personal interviews were conducted among 120 dairy farmers of all the four blocks of Indore district selected through stratified sampling technique. Dairy business is found profitable and becomes more profitable if one becomes the member of cooperative society as he gets various benefits in terms of improved veterinary services, feed and fodder, credit facility and marketing system. As it is profitable and credit facility is easy, it is good source of generating employment for unemployed youth and women's so that they can get extra income apart from cultivation, for household expenditure so as to improve economic condition and standard of living. Various suggestions has been given to the government and cooperative societies related to training of dairy farmers, market development and facilities need to be provided to the farmers for dairy development as dairy farmers were facing constraints related to market, prices and technology which helps them for better operations and motivates others to become the part of dairy industry.
