The livelihood activities of rural families are no longer confined to farming and are increasingly being diversified through rural-to-urban migration. Basic amenities refer to the various facilities available to a particular household or community that reflects the quality of life. Housing is the most important of the physical environment which continuously influence on the health and happiness of workers. An attempt is made to study the living conditions of the migrant women workers in informal sector. Multistage sampling technique was adopted in the study for selecting the sample. The study was conducted among women workers who migrated from different places on temporary basis for work in informal sector. These women workers are engaged as construction workers, bricklin workers, self employed/vendors and domestic workers in the study areas. The total sample size was 600 migrated women workers. After cross checking and testing the reliability the 26 samples found to be counterfeit and then sample size confined to 574. The study found that housing condition, access to safe drinking water and hygienic toilet facilities, proper electric supply, are inconvenient for survival in the destination place without proper amenities facilities. The PQLI find out that proportion of poor was equal in all three groups. A negligible proportion of the migrant women workers have very good physical quality of life.
