Abstract

Child labor has been an international concern because it damages, spoils and destroys the future of children. The problem of child labor is a serious matter not only in India but also its other developing countries. It is great social problem. Children are the hope and future of a nation. Yet, there are millions deprived children in our country who have never known a normal, carefree, childhood. Child labour is increasingly addressed as a violation of children's fundamental rights to optimal developments and protection from economic exploitation as enshrined in universal instruments and standards establish specifically in the united Nations convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC), 1989, ILO's Minimum Age Convention, 1973 (N0.138) and the Worst of child labour Convention, 1999(No.182) as well as a socioeconomic imperative for a country's growth and development According to an organization of census, those are called labor who is engaged fully in profitable earning. The laborers who work for 183 days or more than this are primary laborers and the laborers working less than 183 days are secondary labourers. Child labour refers to children's (less than 14 years) fulltime or partime engagement with profitable earning. The social malady of child labour can be brought under control, if each individual takes responsibility of reporting about any one employing a child below the age of 14 years. And also, child labour can be controlled if the government functions effectively with the support of public.
