The paper discusses about the result of an opinion survey regarding the introduction of Library and Information Science at the college level [i.e. under-graduate level] in West Bengal. Different categories of people in our society have participated in this survey. Students, teachers, research scholars and guardians have participated in this survey. The survey was conducted with the help of a questionnaire and interview method. Data were analyzed in the tabular form. Conclusion and suggestions made on the basis of analysis of data.
