Indo-China Issues and Bilateral Relations

Since the end of World War II and most particularly after Cold War, international relations witnessed sweeping changes and realignments and the world power design is heavily defined by the re-emergence of India and China on the global arena with certain roles of their size, potential and dynamism. This paper seeks to analyze the scenes of India-China bilateral relations which are mostly confronted boundary and land disputes. The focus is put on those bilateral issues which blocks the affairs among the two neighbours and suggests for the cooperative understanding to the all important issues for the peaceful rise of the two Asian countries, as there has been a divergence of interests between the two like the boundary disputes. In this regard an attempt has been made to illuminate whether the approaches of both India and China lead them to act as rivals or friends. This paper also analyzes the pace of strengthening the policy of India for cooperation with China. But after 1998, the cooperation was only a dream, when India cited China as the threat number one to its security. This aggressive environment changed once again during NDA government, when India began making proposals towards China. New projected issue of Doklam Standoff between India and China which appears to have exposed a new era of China-India and India-China policy also stands analyzed in this paper. Descriptive-Analysis has been used in this work to analyze and highlight the facts with highest level of impartiality.
