The present study is to explore the present status and future prospects of the lifelong learning among the elderly population. Society needs to ensure that the senior citizens are able to lead a healthy, stress-free and comfortable life ahead with every opportunity to pursue the activities of their choice. The objective of the study is to study the present status of education and awareness in elderly persons and also to explore the future needs and prospects of Continuing Education and lifelong learning among the elderly persons in India. The research design of the present study is descriptive in nature. 200 samples in the age group of 60–70 years of age (Young Old) were included. Stratified random sampling technique was adopted. It has been found that 65 to 70 percent of the elderly populations are ill-literate or just primary level educated. More than 50 percent had no learning about their legal rights. Learning about making WILL was also found to be low. It has been concluded that elderlies are interested to get further education in this age and quality spend their time through educational and lifelong learning activities.
