Measuring Impact of Web Sources in ILA Conference Proceedings: A Citation Analysis Chikate R V1, Junior Library Assistant, Patil S K2, PhD, Librarian & Head 1Jayakar Library, University of Pune. 2Department of Library & Information Science, University of Pune. E-mail: skpatil@univpune.ernet.in. Abstract Citation analysis of 790 citations from 94 papers published in 48th ILA Conference proceedings, shows that journals are most cited form of communication amongst the Library and Information Science discipline. The form of literature “Journal and Websites” are the most cited publications. This study confirms about the impermanence of web citations. One of the most compelling results of this study is confirmation that impact of web citations (24%) are relatively in proceedings papers. Web sites are also most preferred source of getting information in Library and Information Science professionals. The Number of Websites cited by the authors were second in highest number of web citations in these groups of papers are a surprising result. Top Keywords Bibliometrics, Citation analysis. Top | |
