Abstract This study aims to find out the relationship between maternal parenting practices and child behavioral problems. 30 mothers of children diagnosed with ADHD and co-morbid disruptive behavioral problems (ODD, CD) were compared with 30 mothers of normal children. The strength and difficulty Questionnaire (SDQ) and Alabama Parenting Questionnaire (APQ) were used to collect data. Analysis using Student's ‘t’ test, and Pearson's Product moment correlation revealed that use of corporal punishment was significantly high by mothers of children diagnosed with ADHD and co-morbid disruptive behavioral problems. Negative parenting practices such as poor monitoring, inconsistent discipline and corporal punishment were found to be significantly positively correlated to child behavioral problems. On the other hand parental involvement showed significant negative correlation with child behavioral problems. Top Keywords ADHD, Child behavioral problems, Maternal parenting, parenting practices.
