About the Journal


Indian Society for Agricultural Development and Policy had been established in the year 1990 with its headquarter at Department of Economics and Sociology, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana. Dr S.S. Grewal, the then Professor and Head of the Department was the founder President of the Society. He was a well-known agricultural economist. Later on stalwarts in the field of Agricultural Economics Drs Karam Singh, Joginder Singh, A.S. Joshi, R.S. Sidhu, M.S. Sidhu, Sukhpal Singh and Kamal Vatta have been the ex-officio presidents of the society. Presently, the society is headed by Dr J.M. Singh being the president and is touching the new heights of success under his able guidance. The society has successfully organized two virtual annual conferences in 2022 and 2023 with massive response and participation across the country. The deliberations were held on various agro-economic issues having importance at the state as well as national level in these conferences. The presenters and participants were motivated with cash awards under sub-themes of the conference besides providing certificates. Apart from this the bi-annual journal of the society is being published regularly. The Journal has been included in UGC Care List and is having NAAS Score 2024 - 4.34.

Mission The aims and objectives of the Society are:
•to advance and disseminates scientific knowledge about economic problems of agricultural development and policy;
• to arrange lectures form distinguished scientists/administrators;
• to organize seminars/symposia/conferences and to publish books, reports, papers or summaries of papers either separately or collectively or in a periodical which may be issued under the auspices of the society; and
• to co-operate with national and international institutions having similar objectives

  1. To disseminate scientific knowledge about economic problems of agricultural development and policy;
  2. To arrange lecture of distinguished scientists/administrator;
  3. To organize seminars/symposia/conference and to publish books, reports, papers and summarizes of papers, either separately or collectively or in a periodical way, which may be issued under the auspices of the society;
  4. To strengthen relations with national and international institutions having similar objectives.

Guidelines for Submission of Papers by Authors


  • Research articles, Review articles, Research notes and short communications in basic and applied research on economic aspects of agriculture, rural development, allied enterprises, livestock and horticulture development, agricultural engineering and extension are accepted for publication in the Journal of Agricultural Development and Policy.
  • The authors submitting papers to Journal of Agricultural Development and Policy should be members of this society.
  • For papers which are accepted for publication, at least the corresponding/first author should be a life/annual member of JADP.
  • The manuscript submitted for publication should accompany a Declaration Certificate duly signed by all authors that the paper has not been published elsewhere or is not being submitted in full or part to any other journal for publication elsewhere.
  • The manuscript should be typed in Times New Roman, font size 11 spacing 1.5, not exceeding 12 to 15 pages, whereas tables should be single spaced with same font and style, including tables, figures, diagrams, photographs and appendices.
  • An abstract not exceeding 150 words, italics, single spaced must accompany the paper along with at least four key words and JEL classification. The soft copy of the manuscript may be submitted at editorjadp@gmail.com
  • Journal of Agricultural Development and Policy is a refereed journal. To protect the anonymity of authors while referring the papers for expert opinion, authors are advised to avoid disclosing their identity in the text and to attach a separate page showing name(s) and affiliation(s) of the author(s) along with any footnotes containing bibliographical information or acknowledgement.
  • Main Headings of the manuscript should be Left aligned and bold, keeping the first letter capitalized as Introduction, Data Sources and Methodology, Results and Discussion, Conclusion and Policy Implications, Acknowledgements and References. The sub-headings/secondary headings of results and discussion should be bold, left-aligned, small case letters with first letter in capital. The scientific names should be in italic.
  • The mathematical notations and statistical formulae should be neatly typed.
  • Only those references which have been cited in the text should be given at the end of the article. They should be arranged in the alphabetical order and each reference should contain the following order: author(s) name(s); year; title of the article; name of the journal; volume and page number. The references should be listed in following manner:

  • All articles are referred in anonymity. The authors should comply with the comments of the referee within 5 to 7 days, beyond which the paper will not be considered for publication.
  • The Editorial board reserves all rights to make stylistic changes or other editorial changes in the article submitted and accepted for publication.
