Abstract

A field experiment was conducted act the Research farm of Indian Lac Research Institute, Namkum, Ranchi during 1985 and 1986 to evaluate the comparative efficasy of some herbieldes in Moghania ntacrophylla (wild) O. Ktze (bhalia) nursery. The weed competition study revealed that weed free condition through weeding at 21 days interval increased dry matter accumulation of bhalia seedlings by 80.7 and 69.2 per sent at 80 and 100 d a s (days after sowing). Hand weeding twice (30 and 60 d a s) and application of pendimethalin 1.5 kg/ha and oxadiaszon 0.5 kg/ha were superior to other heibicides in reducing the weeds as compared to weedy chesk resulting in healthy seedlings.
