Momordica charantia has been proven to have blood glucose lowering capacity similar to insulin. The aim of this study was to develop halal herbal capsule dosage form for Momordica charantia extract to mask the bitter test and investigate the suitable type of adsorbent for drying the extract. Momordica charantia was extracted and filled in capsule by using non-thermal drying method. Microcrystalline cellulose found to be the best option as pharmaceutical adsorbent for Momordica charantia extract compared to magnesium carbonate and magnesium oxide. The powder obtained with MCC has excellent flow properties with low moisture content. The capsules produced have good uniformity of weight and passed disintegration and stability test.
