There are large number of symbiotic associations in nature, endophytic association is one of them. Endophytes are the organisms, which colonize inside the healthy medicinal plants and produce variety of bioactive compounds to combat the plant pathogens and kill them. These fungal endophytes have potential to produce novel bioactive compounds of medicinal importance. The fungal endophytes from the plant Terminalia catappa medicinal plant were not well explored in West Malaysia. Therefore, this study was designed with the objectives to harness antagonistic activity showing novel endophytic fungal strains from this plant.
