Over the years the epidemic of flavivirus such us Dengue virus [DENV], West Nile virus [WNV] and Japanese Encephalitis virus[JEV] increases and there is no current drug that could combat the viral infection. Flavonoids are known as the natural bioactive compound that can be extracted from plants and are seen to affect the virulence of the pathogens. Our aim is to summarize the efficacy of flavonoids against flavivirus based on 2 experimental designs; computational and laboratory experimental based design studies; in-vitro and in-vivo. Thirty-four papers were found to perform studies indicating the efficacy of flavonoids towards flavivirus. The studies were analyzed based on 2 experimental design studies; computation and laboratory setting. Based on the review, it was found that flavonoids have the tendency as anti-flavivirus but needs to be further tested. All the 34 papers perform studies on 3 main flavivirus; DENV, WNV and JEV. It is also suggested that the experimental studies are ideally to merge both experimental setting of computational and laboratory experimental to prove the efficacy of flavonoids against flavivirus.
