Pneumonia is a form of acute respiratory tract infection that affects one or both lungs. It is a disease of all age that affect both children and elderly people and has been considered as an important cause of death for centuries. Inadequate knowledge about pneumonia will lead to delay or failure to manage it effectively. The aim of the study was to assess the level of knowledge on pneumonia among nurse in Mosul hospitals, Iraq. This cross-sectional study design recruited a total of 200 nurses from five hospitals in Mosul, Iraq. Data was collected in a convenience sampling. The participants were given a set of questionnaires gathering sociodemographic data and the nurse's knowledge of pneumonia in details. The findings showed that the socio-demographic characteristics were male = 54% while female = 46%. Majority 92% have knowledge about pneumonia from their academic study, and [86%] gain further information through nursing practice. Meanwhile, about 30.5% have good level knowledge about measure of reducing incident of pneumoni. Overall, knowledge level was reported to be poor among the participants. This study suggested that an educational intervention is needed to increase the knowledge of pneumonia among the nurses at Mosul Hospital, Iraq.
