Evaluation of ideal sample for identification and essential to evaluate successful engraftment after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation needs a sensitive and accurate method. A successful HSCT results in complete donor derived cells in patient's hematopoiesis. The main aim of chimerism analysis is to check the concentration of donor cells which is considered as useful method for the success of treatment. The present study was carried out to determine the chimeric status of patients who underwent hematopoietic stem cell transplantation involving female patient and male donor using commercially available Y-DNA based quantification kit. This study enrolled fourteen female patients of HSCT. Samples from patient and donor were collected before transplant as reference sample. Post-transplant samples were collected from female patients after 30 days, 60 days, and 90 days of time interval. Chimeric status of the patients was analyzed using Y- DNA quantitation.
