Muslim, Hindu and Sikh were religious communities of Punjab. Congress, Muslim League, Sikh League and Unionist Party were main political parties of Punjab. Unionist Party dominated by of agriculturist Muslims of Punjab. Despite this, Chottu Ram was prominent figure of Unionist Party. It was very important that as a Hindu Jat of southeast Punjab, Chottu Ram had on prestigious position among the Unionist Party of Punjab. Chottu Ram had benefit being a Jat. Jat was not only among the Hindu but also Jat was also dominated in Sikhs as well as in Muslims. Secondly, Chottu Ram was belonged to agriculturist community. Therefore, it was also an important fact that Muslims of Punjab had more trusted on Chottu Ram in comparison of Muslim League leader Jinnah.
