Theyear 2022 is celebrating as ȘAzadi Kaamrit Mahotsavș for completing the 75years of India's independence. Country has faced many up and down in these last 75 years. Now, India's democratic system have crossed seven decades and it has survived despite many countries have surrendered themselves to dictatorship and military rules in the world. Democracy is an assurance of adult franchise and creates environment for the people to participate in the democratic process. No doubt presently, India is the biggest democratic country in the world. The success andfailure of democracy means a lot for the future of democracy. After independence, India had chosen the Parliamentary democratic system for governance and administration. In fact, socio-political awakening all over the globe has compelled India to adopt it. The Preamble of Indian Constitution has described a parliamentary democratic republic, in which both President and Prime Minister both are equally important, one is the head of state and other is the head of government. The structure of government is federal in nature, but the word is not used in the Constitution itself. Article one described ȘIndia is a union of Statesș. It is clear that India is union not a federal structure of state. Our constitution is very unique in the world, because we have adopted the British system of governance and taken many provisions from the constitutions of different countries of the world like USA, Canada, Germany, Australia, Japan etc. In this paper an efforts will be made to know the Indian democratic system and role ofyouth. Why youth role in politics is so important? How and why democracy has affected the youth? The present paper also examines the role of Indian youth in electoral politics. Is merely participation in politics can addresses their problems? These are the main quest of this research paper.
