Post Liberalization, consequent on opening up of edible oil sector, there have been many changes like increased imports, variations in prices, proliferation of types and various brands of edible oils. Andhra Pradesh is one of the largest states in India and major consumer of edible oils in India. This paper studies the consumption Pattern of Edible Oil in the State of Andhra Pradesh with an objective to ascertain whether there has been any shift in consumption post liberalization. It probes consumption pattern of edible oil viz., type of oils consumed, quantity, brands preferred, and consumer's perception towards oils. Etc. Primary data was collected by administering a questionnaire to respondents. The study revealed that there has been a shift in consumption from indigenously manufactured oils towards imported oils.
