Abstract

In the recent past, during discourse of Hon'ble Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on 99th Indian Science Congress, his delivered statement sensitized every Indian including Scientist, Technologist, Academician and sounded everyone to take China'a remarkable progress with GDP of 9% plus seriously, as a challenge. He added “Things are changing but we can not be satisfied with what has been achieved. We need to do much more to change the face of Indian Science”. In a bid to scramble China, India have to pay more attention towards modern Industrialization, abreast with latest global standards to raise and achieve desired GDP. India have done a lot and have been doing in this direction remarkably good, still need is felt to be more innovative, active when we focus on Sickness/Clousre of Indian Industries, SMEs particularly in Punjab. Thanks to Globalisation which bestowed sufficient boosting to sleeping and sick part of SME Sector. Globalisation of SMEs has contributed production growth, the growth of total exports of Indian Economy and emphasized on ‘Qualitative Improvement’ as well. This paper concludes with an assessment of challenges and opportunities of SMEs for future expansion. The International Co-operation (IC), if sought for modernization, technology up-gradation and enhancement of competitiveness of Indian SMEs successfully, the day shall surely come when desired GDP will be achieved and India will become a Formidable Nation in the world, with pride.
