Abstract

The post globalization period of Indian economy is the period of rapid economic growth mostly attributed to the structural adjustment, more openness with increasing competition and integration with the global economy. The economic development at the different stages reveals different composition of different sectors. The economic structure comprising of various sectors have experienced the change in the composition of the economy. This sectoral composition provides an in site into the fact how different sector have fared over time in terms of their contribution, growth rates and other related co-efficients under different traits of the sectors. Present study intends to place agriculture in comparison to other sectors in the overall spectrum of the economy. The analysis is carried out the comparative parameters where a comparative statement is provided to draw the conclusions.
