Global recession reduced employment opportunities in the world. After the recession, the growth rate of the economies has declined. The growth rate of India is also projected at a low rate than the last year and the youth unemployment is increasing. In Kerala the educated youth's expectation is on the service sector which is growing at a high rate. There are opportunities in the IT-B.P.M sector which employ the educated youth. The educated people always demand white collar jobs and the service sector growth helped them in getting highly paid jobs. Now, Kerala is becoming more service sector dependent and with the limited job opportunities unemployment has been increasing. In this paper, the changing structure of employment in the economy is considered along with the scope of service -IT sector.
