This paper tries to recognize and investigate the factors responsible for total factor productivity growth of selected industries of manufacture of Beverages taken into consideration of our study during 1998–99 to 2008–09. Using chi-square method, the result suggests that the trend of labour productivity is not followed by a straight line trend in those industries. The unmistakable implication for policymakers is the need to open up more to institutional and technological progress conducive to TFP growth.
