Investigating the role of supply chain capability in firms’ performance: A survey in Iran

Abstract

The aim of the present study is to investigate the influence of supply chain capability in firms’ performance of 30 manufacturing companies in Tehran, capital of Iran. Senior managers, middle managers, industrial engineers and supply chain managers of the companies were selected as appropriate respondents of the study. After distribution of 90 questionnaires among respondents, 86 usable questionnaires were returned. Factor analysis and the findings show that the selected companies (according to Mean analysis) enjoy appropriate level of supply chain capability. Further, supply chain capability has a significant positive relationship with firms’ performance. The results of the current study provide further insight for managers of organization, on improving supply chain capability to achieve competitive advantages.
