Abstract

Employment issues are the important concern of almost every economic and social policy of India. It has also been highlighted that providing, productive and gainful employment is the key strategy for achieving inclusive growth in the 12th plan. Recent researches show that public sector is no longer been concerned to achieve this social objective. The employment has been generated mainly by the private sector in the recent years. So this paper attempts to comprehensively study the trends in employment in Public & Private sector. Further an attempt has been made to identify the sectors in which employment has decreased tremendously in the recent year.
