Abstract

The objective of the present study, which is an applied study (concerning goal) and exploratory mixed method (concerning study data), is to assess the technology transfer models in upstream oil industry and choosing the best applicable model in Iran for Agha-jari Oil & Gas Production Co.. The statistical population of the research includes the employees of South Oil Company consisting of 206 people. For qualitative part, seven interviews were carried out with oil industry experts, and for quantitative part as the population members were congruous the random sampling method was used; finally, 108 people were chosen and the questionnaires were distributed among them. For analyzing the interview data, open and central encoding method was used and for questionnaires, Analytic Hierarchy Process was applied. Studying the research literature and checking the available models in technology transfer area, the best applicable technology transfer model in upstream oil industry was presented including five dimensions of model input, project definition, system development, implementation, and model output along with model assessment criteria. In the end, practical proposals and suggestions for future research are offered.
