To study the impact of stress related factors on public and private sector managers.
The study attempts to identify the level of stress experienced by employees in the managerial cadre in public and private sector companies of Uttrakhand, based on significant workplace stressors. The present study was done on a sample of 180 managers selected from public and private sector organizations of Uttrakhand. Questionnaire was used to assess the variables in the study. Descriptive statistics, factor analysis, Pearson product moment correlation and Z test was used to analyze the data. It was found in results that private sector managers experience higher level of stress as compared to public sector managers. Individual aspirations, work factors and lifestyle changes lead to higher level of stress among the managers.
The research work done would help the employers in identifying the factors leading to high stress levels in their respective organizations and further in identification of effective coping strategies for their employees.
