Human Resource Accounting: An Essential Management Tool for the Service Sectors

Abstract

Human resources are important input for both manufacturing and service business. But, today most of the economies are generating their major part of revenue from service businesses. Service business mainly deals with Medical services, Banking, Insurance, Tourism, Education, IT firms, Airlines etc. The present paper is an effort to analyze that how employees, which are the human resource of service business are playing significant role for the success of business. The employees are the intellectuals capital of the business and consider as a assets of the company. The first part of the paper is consist of overview of service business and importance of Human resource in the field of service business. The second part talks about Human resource accounting, concepts, models and analyze that how human resources are considered as assets and liabilities for the business organizations. The last part of the paper is consist of critical analysis of HRA in service industries, and how to execute the implementation of HRA especially in service sectors, at last an attempt has been made to find out suggestion & conclusion.
