Work Life Balance in Hospitality Industry: A Conceptual Framework

The present study aims at understanding the Work Life Balance in Hospitality Industry. It is an industry that is labor intensive and requires highly skilled manpower to serve the guests in best possible manner. It is an industry where the service providers work 24 X 7 and working hours for the employees may extend upto 12 hours or even more. Thus, it becomes difficult for the employees to maintain a balance between work and personal life. Thus the present study aims at providing a conceptual framework of work life balance in hospitality industry. The study also presents the relation of work life balance with other major aspects of human resources i.e job satisfaction, job stress and employee turnover.
