Abstract

Employers need to be concerned with the well-being and mental health of people and aware of the changes in broader business environment that are likely to put additional pressure on people. In today's fast developing world stress is a frequent word experienced by all human beings requires constant adaptation. Everybody should able to withstand the stress to have a success in their lives. The management of work related stress has to be taken seriously by the employers because stress leads employees to absenteeism, physical illness and low productivity. Organizational surveys facilitate better understanding of the causative factors of stress and coping strategies which leads to positive consequences. Any organization that seeks to establish and maintain the best state of physical, mental and social well-being of its employees needs to have policies and procedures that increase sustainable advantage in competitive environment. In IT field employees experience lot of stress to meet day to day technological changes and working environment. In IT industry employees were highly paid but mental stress damages physical and emotional health.The technological advancements in IT Sector modified the roles and the responsibilities of employees thus affecting even the work-team relationships. Researcher made an attempt to explore causative factors for stress among IT employees. Study results revealed that changes in technology, transformations in organization structure, unachievable deadlines, poor communication, family problems, poor working conditions, and strained relationships are causative factors for stress of IT employees.
