The Influence of Spiritual Leadership in Promoting Organizational Citizenship Behaviors of Employees

Abstract

The present study aimed at exploring the structural relationship model between spiritual leadership and organizational citizenship behaviour by considering the role of organizational spirituality as a mediator. Research methods in terms of objective and data collection were developmental-applied and descriptive-correlation type, respectively. Statistical population of this study was consist of employees the governmental hospitals of the Iranshahr city that their education level was diploma and higher (483 employee). Sample study was 170 employee that selected by ratio-class method. Data were collected by three standard questionnaires: spiritual leadership, organizational spirituality and organizational citizenship behaviour that have internal consistency 0.87, 0.89 and 0.83, respectively based on Cronbach's Alfa method. Data from the questionnaires were analysed using path analysis in LISREL software. Findings showed that spiritual leadership has significant effect on organizational spirituality; organizational spirituality has significant effect on organizational citizenship behaviour and spiritual leadership has significant effect on organizational citizenship behaviour.
