Competency Model and HRM Practices-An Empirical Study of Organisations in India

Abstract

This paper discusses the linkage of leadership competency model in the Organizational context and its applications in Human Resource Management. The study is done in organisations based in India having Leadership Competency Model. The questionnaire was administered to assess the implementation of leadership competency model in these organisations in different Human Resources Practices. The gaps in literature shows there is no such study conducted in India on the implementation of leadership competency model in Human Resources Management. The study is done using both theoretical data from literature review and empirical data from the survey questionnaire. The paper concludes with results that the implementation of leadership competency model is of varying quality in different Human Resources Processes.

This paper is based on the empirical analysis of the implementation of leadership competency model in Human Resources Management in Organisations based in India. The organisations having leadership competency model were selected for the study to assess the implementation maturity in Human Resources practices.

This paper brings out the significant areas in Human Resources of implementing Leadership Competency Model.

This paper assists Human Resource Managers about the implementation areas of Leadership Competency Model in Human Resources.
