The Role of Emotional Intelligence on Perceived Diversity Climate among Employees in Chennai City

Abstract

Workforce diversity has become a common occurrence in all organisations irrespective of their location as an impact of globalisation and workforce mobility. Organisations welcome and rather invite such diverse workforce as it is proven that it results in creativity, innovation and organisational excellence. To retain and make its diverse employees happy, Organisations devise strategies and various policies. The paper attempts to study the perception of diversity climate by the employees based on individual factors. Each employee is unique, different, and therefore his perception varies. This study analyses the influence of an individual's emotional intelligence on perceived diversity climate of employees in organisation. Data is collected across various sectors in Chennai from employees to understand their perceived diversity climate.
