Smart Cities & Sustainable Development: A Conceptual Framework

This paper aims to propose a conceptual framework to guide cities being developed under Smart City Mission in order to attain sustainable development. Sustainability is also a major concern for the governments and citizens of the urban cities. This can be a long term goal and governments can work towards developing such cites which are developed under the umbrella of the term sustainability. The study concludes that attention and focus at the initial stages of planning of smart cities will ensure that contractual obligations are fulfilled and funds are utilized properly. Hence, the need of the hour is a sustainable construction strategy.
