Foliar spray of crude extract of Chaetomium globosum caused biochemical changes in wheat and accounted for high contents of total protein (15.71%) nitrogen (2.90%) in treated wheat seedlings. Carbon contents also increased but in terms of C:N ratio the quantity of C proved to be lowest. An increase in proteins and nitrogen levels appears to be an indicative of artificial activation of defense mechanism in wheat against Drechslera sorokiniana.
