Abstract

Six fungicides were studied by poison food technique, the fungicides varied considerably in their toxicity to the pathogen. Bavistin, emisan-6 and benomyl were the most inhibitory with ED50 values of O.80, 0.87 and 1.51 ppm, respectively. The five fungicides, namely bavistin, emisan-6, benomyl, indofil M-45 and captan used for seed soaking, significantly reduced the seed-borne inoculum. Although none of them provided complete eradication but significantly reduced the disease incidence in field and significantly increased the yield.
