Abstract

Antagonistic potential of Tnchodernia harzianum and Gliocladium virens was observed as these overgrew and suppressed the growth of Fusarium oxysporum f. sp lentis in dual culture within 120 hrs of co-inoculation No hyphal mycoparasitism was observed between two antagonists and Fo lentis. In PDA containing 20% culture filterate of T. harzianum and G virens, 43 5 and 47 9% growth inhibition of F o lentis was recorded, respectively. In pots, pre-sowing seed treatment (ST) with Pseudomonas fluorescens + carboxin resulted in 62 3% wilt control The rhizosphere population of F o lentis in 10 - 20 cm soil depth at 30 - 60 days after sowing was 32 7 - 135 7 cfu x 10 in ST with G virens and it was lower than that in soil drenching with spore suspension of G virens or T harzianum ST with carbendazim + thiram and G virens + P fluorescens + carboxin were effective in the field in controlling 48 8 and 44 2% lentil wilt, respectively.
