Abstract

All the four bio-pesticides were found effective in comparison to control in managing Helicovelpa armigera on chickpea, Blopea (Btk) was the most effective (aplied twice @ 1 kg/ha) among the bio-pesticides with 2.8 and 3.7 larvae/1 0 plants, 6.4 and 8.8% pod damage and 12.5 and 12.3 q/ha yield. Biolep was followed by bioasp (Btk), dipel (Btk) and virin (Ha NPV). Benefit: cost obtained from different bio-pesticides were low due to their high price. Highest benefit: cost was obtained from dipel (2.72: 1). Monocrotophos (applied twice @ 1 l/ha) was the most effective and economical among all the treatments.
