Abstract

The different concentrations of newly developed EC of neem oil (NO) and combination of neem oil + pungam oil (NOPO) were tested for their feeding inhibition and growth inhibitory properties against rice leaffolder, Cnaphalocrocis medinahs and EC formulations of neem + pungam oil (NOPO) 60 EC (C) 3% was found to be most effective followed by NOPO 60 EC (C) 2% and neem oil (NO) 60 EC (A) 3% as potent antifeedant and growth inhibitor. The EC formulations of neem and pungam oil combination [NOPO 60 EC (C)] and neem oil alone [NO 60 EC (A)] proved to be highly effective in reducing the food consumption, pupal weight, adult emergence, pupation rate, egg hatchability and increasing larval mortality of C. medinahs under laboratory conditions.
