Abstract

Pseudomonas jluorescens strain Pf 1, effectively inhibited the mycelial growth of Macrophomina phaseolina, the pathogen causing dry root rot in groundnut. Application of Pf 1 as seed treatment (10 g/kg seed) followed by soil application (2.5 kg/ha) against root rot, effectively supported higher plant growth, better native nodulation and grain yield. Sclerotial number and root rot incidence were also greatly reduced.
