Field Screening of Tomato, Pea, Cowpea, Coriander, Fenugreek, Cluster bean and Bottle guard Germplasms Against Meloidogyne incognita

Abstract

Four hundred and twenty five varieties were screened against root-knot nematode, Meloidogyne incognita in naturally infested field from 1993 to 2000. Observations recorded on number of galls and egg masses revealed that TH-2312, BRTH-1, TRTH-895, Sel. 120, VFN Bush, Karnataka hybrid, IAHS 88-2 of tomato; UD-2l, 124, 239, 241, 296, 375, 475, CS-4 and CS-6 of coriander; UM-117, 118, 128, 129, 143, 144, 193, 231, 301, 321 and 464 of fenugreek; RCV-7, M-326, Sel. 16 of cowpea and RBG-4 of bottle guard showed resistant reactions. Further, varieties like PAU-6, 7, 9, 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15 of tomato; UD-20 of coriander, UM-32, 34, 322 of fenugreek and BCKV-2 of cowpea showed resistant reactions for more than three years.
