Management of Flag Smut in Wheat
Abstract
Urocystis agropyri incited flag smut of wheat could be managed by growing resistant cvs. like WH 293 or HD 2329. Seed treatment with tubeconazole @ 1.0, 1.5 and 2.0 g kg−1, or carboxin and carbendazim @ 2.0 and 2.5 g kg−1 seed reduced cent per cent disease incidence. Application of poultry manure @ 4–6 t ha−1 managed flag smut. Nl60P50 kg ha−1 and early or late sowing were found effective in management of the disease.
