Management of Meloidogyne incognita in French Bean Through Crop Rotation

Abstract

Out of five different crop sequences tried, the sequence, french bean - ahu rice - sesamum = french bean was found to be effective in reducing the soil population, root galls and eggmasses of Meloidogyne incognita and increased yield of french bean, Ahu rice, foxtail millet, sesamum, niger and fallow period were found to be effective in reducing soil population of the nematode. Increased population of M. incognita recorded in monoculture of french bean or french bean in rotation with cowpea and green gram.
