Nematicidal Activity of O,O-Diaryl 0-2-Chloroethyl Phosphorothionates Against Meloidogyne incognita^#

Twenty new O,O-diaryl 0-2-chloroethyl phosphorothionates molecules were assayed in vitro for nematicidal activity against root-knot nematode, Meloidogyne incognita, five showed very high activity. These were further evaluated under glass-house conditions on cowpea and found to considerably increase the plant growth characters and significantly reduced the number of galls on the root system. Maximum reduction in root galling was achieved by O,O-di (2,4,6-trichlorophenyl) 0-2-chloroethyl phosphorothionate, whose nematicidal activity was found better than triazophos.
